Tahjanae Northcutt

Tahjanae D. Northcutt, a California native with a love for the sunshine and warm beaches, grew up in the inner city of South-Central Los Angeles. Raised by her dad as a result of her mother being assaulted by her cousins and illegally forced out of her home and into homelessness, she experienced a traumatic childhood searching for love and belonging.

Tahjanae graduated high school with honors, was accepted into multiple universities, and ultimately chose Washington state as part of her ultimate plan to leave her troublesome life in South Central behind. She gave birth to her first child and, with her bachelor’s degree later returned to attend graduate school. Tahjanae was determined to escape through her successes while spending her life searching for answers untold.

Tahjanae returned home to find her dad experiencing financial hardship and alcoholism while her mother recovered from her abuse and homelessness and doing well. She gave birth to her daughter and graduated with her Masters of Science degree in counseling, emphasizing Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy while working full time at UCLA.

She felt her passions were unfulfilled and desired to help those less fortunate and entered into non-profit social services providing therapy, leading homeless outreach teams across the Los Angeles and Santa Monica areas, and as director in women’s residential programs who were experiencing substance abuse and homelessness.
